I got a new modem for christmas. I've installed it and it works fine and everything.

However whenever I try to query it or dial out with it Windows 2000 crashes (which is a very rare sight).

I can't get it working and it's really irritating me. I have a PCI TNT 2 and I think that might be conflicting with it as I can ping servers in dos with speeds of 150ms yet in games get 600 odd pings.

Please let there be someone in here that can help me.

Tried every PCI slot combination with no luck :/

hmmmm try switching it to another PCI socket worked with mine, i was getting a conflict with my satellite card and my modem so i moved the modem down 1 slot and it seemed to work.

can't explaing the pings though.
