I have been wondering why this happens for some time. When I insert an image, it goes in fine but there is always a little extra bit at the bottom, you can see it by highlighting the image. This wasn't any trouble until recently when I tried to do something with corners and it just didn't work.

Here is an example :-

http://www.geocities.com/stef_sharratt/why.html

The image is in the top left hand corner, just drag the mouse over the region and you will see what I mean.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome, thanks.

Heh, cheers monkey_man. The example wasn't in a table but when I tried what you said, it was fine.

I had got into the habit of coding like

I can see where I went wrong now, thanks!

I'm assuming that you're using tables and that you're using Notepad or summint. You have to put the bit on the same line as the image sometimes, or you get a small gap. Same with some other things that I can't quite remember right now.

Firstly, I used bitmaps because my dad has formatted the computer recently and I haven't got round to installing Fireworks. It also happens when I just save it onto my computer.

Got any good free host suggestions?

If it is just because of geocities, that is OK but I can't see that it is...

I'm pretty sure it's because there is more HTML Code under the Image code, so it's highlighting that Yahoo/Geocities thingy on the other side.

It's somthing that will happen because of the Code your Web Host adds at the end.

Gah, Geocities. Sorry, I can't help you if you're on geocities. I can't see anything, despite your logo being totally white. All I get is the Geocities popups, nothing else is there.

Secondly...

Bitmaps? WHY??? JPGs or GIFs only please, for God's sake.
