Some people wonder where the masters of video games like Shiguru Miyamoto get their inspiration for characters. Some are rather ovbious, others not so much, but all are genius, here are just a few characters and how they were thought up.

MARIO -

Mario is one of the worlds most famous and successful video game stars in existance, but how he was thought up is rather clever. After Shigsy thinking up a carpenter for a game star, he realised this was maybe the wrong way to go and decided Mario needed a change. One day he went to get a pizza from an Italian restaurant and met a rather gymnastic Italian. Instead of cutting up the mushrooms and other ingrediants he used spiked shoes and jumped on the top of them, also after seeing him jump straight up into the attic, Shigsy had found what he was looking for and Mario was born!

YOSHI -

It was around April that Shigsy started trying too create a good Dinosaur to rival Bowser and become Mario's sidekick (Seeing as Luigi doesn't really count.) But it ws Easter Day that he got his inspiration. Seeing the easter bunny throw eggs and the children he was passing in some mad, Japanese advert, he thought what if his dinosaur could throw similar eggs at foes. It was a perfect idea. Still, nobody knows where he got that god-awful name from, though.

DONKEY KONG -

Although most people know that Donkey Kong's name was derived from King Kong and the fact that Donkey's are messy little creatures, not many people know where he got the idea for his appearance from. Whilst watching Planet of the Apes, Shigsy got destracted by a giant Gorilla being chased by a bunch of zoo keepers nets. He began to climb some scafolding and the zoo keepers followed, but the huge Gorilla threw huge barrels of cement at the zoo keepers, semingly making a route for escape. Suddenly he stole a boom box from one of the crushed zoo keepers and began to dance, then an older Gorilla came along and threw a barrel at it. It seems Shigsy saw this as a sign to start making video games and... did.

RAYMAN -

Rayman has always been something of an enigmatic character. Having no arms and legs make him rather strange, but what could possibly have inspired him? Well, basically, they forgot to add arms and legs, he was origionally meant to look like a tadpole, but somehow the creators forgot to add basic limbs. Luckily, this was much more origional than a tadpole, and Rayman was created!

BOMBERMAN -

Bomberman was inspired from the most unlikely of places. After playing games, Bomberman was thought up as a character who was basically a TV. They shaped his head like a television and hoped that would good enough. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't think of anything he could do, so, after using a lot of dynamite in the past because he was a miner, they shoved bombs where his hands should have been. This was the magical transformation from TV Head to Bomberman.

BOWSER -

This is a very strange one and it's very lucky too. Seeing as Donkey Kong was loved by everyone, because he's a monkey and all, Shigsy was looking for a replacement bad guy. Shigsy, luckiy, went out for a bit of shopping. He spotted a Turtle and began to examine it, thinking about his new bad guy. But this turtle fell over onto a pile of nails with glue of the bottom and got a more fearsome looking shell. Shigsy took him home and made him his pet, after a while of just staring at him, Bowser poped into his mind.

PIKMIN -

When Shigsy's son had a 'Plant Character' competition at school, he turned to the big man for help. Seeing as he loved bulbs so much, he simply drew a face on one and told his son to paint it. His son drew two more and painted them different colours. When he came home he said he'd won and his teacher asked if they were his new game characters. No wonder Shigsy took this on board and looked at his son's designed, seemingly nicking them.

There you have it, some very unusual inspiration. Another Special Reserve exclusive. I would just like to say, for legal reasons, this information MAY not be true, but probably are.

Me too, some of the ideas were good, just I couldn't seem to write. Let's just call it a 'bad day' ;-)

Mindless.

In writing poorly structured paragraphs, about ideas which don't even mildly amuse, it just seems like a 5 year old writing a father christams appreciation thread.

Think about your posts more.... Be like Jesus.
