Having trouble in the Hazardous materials Bay B, have killed the alien grunts, have climbed the ladder, but no scientist to be seen, and the door wont open at all. Has anyone had any trouble like this with this section, or am I not doing something really obvious. Please help as it driving me crazy!

Thanks for the help, but I have already done what you have said, I can see the scientist through the scope in the crossbow, if I stand on the boxes to the far left hand side, but he will not open the door for me, even though I have killed everything in the room. Could it be a software problem?
Please advise
Hope you had a ripper of a new year!

you are vey near the end of the game...

anyway heres what u do - Take the big freight elevator down into the Lambda Complex. After a few rooms you'll come into a big warehouse area where a few more female assassins are just waiting for you. Once you take care of all of them, go up to the top level and work around the side walls and go down the elevator.

You'll come into a big room with a couple of alien hornet-shooters to dispatch. Once you destroy them all, a scientist will open a door on the right-hand side of the far wall and let you through.

Don't kill the scientist (yet)... he needs to open a security door for you. Once he does, though... happy hunting.

Once you go up the little lift you can go to the right where a holier-than-thou scientist introduces you to the egon. Show him just how easily you ca bring yourself to use it on living creatures... if you know what I mean.

hope this helps :-)

Thanks guys for the replies, it is the Lambda Core stage, and the door to the reactor is solid, no glass, althought here are three glass windows to the left hand side, but I have shot throught hem, and still the door wont open. If you climb up onto the boxes on the far left hand side you and you use the crossbow scope you can actually seee the scientist standing behind the door. Happy New Year Guys

half life is indeed a good game i completed it and it is really good, even though graphicly it is'nt the best game, the gameplay and atmosphere is very good, as for your problem you'll have to be more specific, if your at the bit i think you are try smashing the glass of the door with the crowbar and crouching though it.
