Well I was shocked to see that the icon of indie-cred Geri Halliwell has been told off by her record company and she has cowtowed, like the good little dancing-bear she is.

She rushed out to Afghanistan to "entertain the troops" with her miming into the mic and embarrassing attempts to appear alluring to the over-8s.
She basically danced about in a bikini with similarly attired backing dancers, and they filmed one song and intended to use the footage as the video for whatever her next single will be.

Except both Halliwell, her label and our Foreign Minister received severe complaints from the Muslim countries, heads of states and other Middle Eastern nations for her appearance and performance.

Why?
Because Muslims complained that as Afghanistan was a Muslim country, and as such under Muslim law, to allow a Western Female to come to their country and appear in less-than-decent clothing was a huge insult to both Islam, Afghanistan and the Muslim faith as a whole.

Which made me laugh. She just doesn't get it does she, nor do our Foreign Department.
To allow an almost naked woman to sing "Look at me" in a country where that behaviour is not tolerated is insulting and massively ignorant of the situation over there.

And Haliwell apologised and the video has been scrapped.

Good. The only shame is she'll be back with yet more insipid promo ideas that won't get banned on the grounds of taste.

Don't see why it should be a problem - after all, she was performing to British troops, not Muslims.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
