ps3 is gonna cost, as one of my friends said that it will be around £500. as i was thinking, who would pay £500 for a little chip, i dont even know what you do with the chip or where you put it.but rich people will be able to afford the ps3 but just people like me not very rich.
we'll probably be using Euro's by then ! but like you say, nothing can be priced at more than £300 unless a couple of games are bundled, look at what price did to the Xbox initially !
The considered view is that a new console cannot cost more than £300, or else is priced out of the market. And as SK said, the price will undoubtedly fall as Sony improve their manufacturing methods.
Contrary to some views I find it extremely unlikely that the PS3 will be anything less than a new fresh console.
The concept of a PS2 upgrade has been something banded about since release. Quite simply this will not happen. Sony may alter the design (a la PSOne) or make the HDD and modem standard, but there will be no chip or memory upgrade because the PS2 simply does not require it.
Besides, with the PS3 not due for at least another 2 - 3 years, why are you worrying about it?? Enjoy your PS2 now and look forward to the games that are coming out.

I'm sure it will be less than that besides the price will decrease anyway i mean the PS2 was about £300 when it came out I think but now look at it's price tag.
