Just a few questions really:

1. How many frames do the SR banners use? Am I not doing it right by using 10 frames and thinking i'm crap, or am I a genius by making a decent one in 15?

2. How many kylobytes is one frame worth?

3. Is the final kilobyte amount cumulative or what?

Thanks!

Save it as a .png aswell, then you can edit it later, if you save it just as a .gif then it will be a lot harder.

When saving a banner, don't save it by file > save as. Save it by file > export preview. On this screen, just click the export button and it will save your banner as a gif.

Okay - I've set it as an animated .gif, but it still saves as a .png file... in general... when I open the png file in Internet Explorer - it does NOTHING!!! It acts just alike a bloody jpeg! - No amination!

What am I doing wrong?!

(By the way - My devil may cry banner RULES!!!! wait til you see it!)

Great, thanks mate...

I've got used to all the basics now... so my banners are coming along well...

I found out the dimensions again just after I read your reply actually, by clicking the properties thingy in the right-click menu..... I can't think why I didn't do that before.

Now I just need to steal all SR's pictures, so I can use them in my banners!

Thanks again!!

The average banner dimensions is 468x60, SR use these and so do nearly every one else.

With frames, it really depends on what you want your banner to look like, you can have 100 frames if that is what you want, but try and keep the filesize at around 15kb. Maybe 25kb maximum.

It really depends what is in one frame to know what it is worth, to see, just click file>export preview. It will tell you at the top how big your banner is.

Oh yeah, remember to have it set as an animated gif as well :)

Oh, and also if anyone could tell me what dimensions the SR banners are that'd be great.

It's just that i'm starting by making SR banners... because I know what they're like, hopefully i'll beable to make a decent enough one for them to use.

Thanks again...
