Read a news story, skimmed it, didn't pick up all the details. As such I thought I'd better fill in the gaps in my head, and post something here, based partly on what I read, partly on what I thought I might of read, and mostly, what I read into it!

Nintendo of Europe have put out a poster for some show or another that featured a list of games coming in 2002. On this list were:

Mario Sunshine: We all knew about this, but it's good to see it hasn't slipped, or disappeared yet!

Zelda: That 'by Xmas 2002' promise looks to still be on then!

Perfect Dark Zero; Excellent, that's as good as official confirmation. For a 2002 release it must be a good distance into development too then.

Mario Kart: Woohoo! A tiny video from E3 gave us the idea that it would be on the way, this solidifies it a little.

Mario Party 4: Hoorah! Mario Party games rule. This one made me most pleased of all.

Now what I read into this, is that we may not be waiting quite as long as in the past for the European versions of these games to ship.

That said, we still haven't had any word on when the Gamecube will be released over here.

Make of that what you will.

Yup, and especially by Nintendo Europe. They say a hell of a lot of things, that America usually denies, but it seems to be an equal of right and wrong. Europe claimed the console will be called Starcube. This was denied, and obviously, they were wrong.

Then they said that Metroid was getting a new game on the Gameboy Advance... for about a week, America denied it, and then they threw up their arms and announced it.

And this is NOT a release list... these games won't be out in March, but should be out in 2002.

The newspaper got one bit wrong. Perfect Dark Zero is made by Rare, not Nintendo.

Newspaper shmewspaper, it's from the net, and it's a photo. Photo's... hardly ever lie. :0)

Here's the full list anyway, from what I can read.

Nintendo:
Pikmin
Luigi’s Mansion
Wave Race: Blue Storm
1080 Snowboarding 2
Mario Sunshine
Zelda for Gamecube
Super Smash Bros Melee
Perfect Dark Zero
Mario Party 4
Mario Kart for GameCube

Rare:
Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet
Donkey Kong Racing

Sega:
Super Monkey Ball
Virtua Striker 3 Version 2002
Sonic Adventure 2

Electronic Arts:
FIFA Soccer
SSX Tricky
Harry Potter
James Bond 007
Madden NFL 2002

Acclaim:
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Crazy Taxi

Activision:
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3

Midway:
Mortal Kombat 5

Ubi Soft:
Worms Blood?
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear
Rayman M (Rayman Arena)
Rayman Tribes?

Infogrames:
Mission Impossible 2
Terminator

Lucasarts:
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
Star Wars: Episode 2 Attack of the Clones

Retro Studios:
Metroid Prime

Silicon Knights:
Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem

Capcom:
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil 4

Namco:
Soul Calibur 2

Worms Blood, and Rayman Tribes might be wrong... it's what it looks like, anyway.

Anywho... anyone notice the rather odd placement of a certain game?

Perfect Dark Zero... under Nintendo, instead of Rare?

I'm guessing just a crap job by Nintendo Europe. Mistake, in other words.

Never trust newspapers. My dad cut out an article for me a couple of weeks ago about video game violence, and they had more gripes about the violence in Crazy Taxi than in Grand Theft Auto 3. They were also blaming the New York attack on how people's minds get warped by TV, but mainly video-games. Playing the blame game with video-games now.
