If you need a decent FLV player VLC Player is very good and it's free. Not sure if this is of any help to you but thought I would mention it.

Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help, I'm afraid I'm nowhere near as clever as Hmmm... :)

For use in video, the main difference would be in file size and compression options.
FLV is just a video file; SWF can be all sorts of things.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply :)

I am a technical writer and I'm creating context sensitive help for our marketing application. I have Adobe Robohelp Html to do the context sensitive part.

And I want to use Camtasia for the help bit.

The videos have to be SWF to be included in Robohelp. Whats the difference between FLV and SWF in a nutshell please?

Im estimating there will be 50 videos, 50 concurrent users at any one time. And a total of 1000 users. I'm not sure what server requirements etc I need. I know I don't have much information to provide you with and there are probably loads more variables I need to define before you can help.

Im not sure what compression the videos will be, I'm thinking as low as possible to allow streaming for 50 concurrent users.

Thanks for pointing me in direction of Camtasia forums, I will try them also.

I appreciate any help you can offer me.

Thanks
Cammy

Welcome to the forums!

Another product I'm not familiar with! :¬)
Looking on their website it looks like you can produce FLV (Flash Video) files.

There are many free and paid FLV Players available - Google's your friend! Often the free versions are only for non-commercial websites so it's worth a read.

Of course YouTube could also be used and works well when embedded in your website.

Also lots of info on the Camtasia Forums
