At the time of me writing this, I am on 299 posts. This post will, in essence, spark my changing from a newbie to a regular. I shall no longer be persecuted by the evil newbie-gobbling regulars, and those gloating notables, oh no, I shall rise up the ranks to become one of the elite.
I enjoy gaming as a pastime, as do everyone else on these forums and I have got a PS2, N64, GBA. I am not usually critical when it comes to gaming, I promote the good parts rather than point out the negative aspects, and as far as I can see with future generation of consoles is a very bright one indeed.
While the PS2 has already got a very strong footing in the industry, I think that this new generation of gaming is going to spark a major, revolutionary change. With its billion-pound backing, the Xbox is going to be a greater part of this change. Sony can no longer rely on the variety of games to plod along, because the other two consoles both have that variety of games as well. Technically, the GameCube and Xbox are far greater machines than the PlayStation 2, and although I do own and enjoy Sony's console, I would much prefer that for at least one gaming generation, Sony could be the underdog. I want Nintendo and Microsoft to prosper, because these are the companies that are putting in the effort to create awesome gaming experiences, these are the people who want YOU to have fun, and aren't just concerned about ripping you off in the meantime.
I am completely passive when it comes to gaming, I don't pick sides. But, in the future I want to see a change, a revolution that will see again times like those in the 8 bit era, when quality was the key to great gaming, not quantity. I don't care about Tomb Raider 6 and Gran Turismo 4, the industry needs to have quality, orginal titles which will propel the industry into greater things. Come on people, we need to have a change. Don't just go for Sony and the PlayStation 2, see what other consoles have, and see just how great they are. Don't put down opponents' technology because you don't have it, see what consoles have to offer, not what they don't.

Sorry, mucked up my nick-name. But anyway, I think the gameboy advance is too well established to be beaten. Plus it has loads of 3rd party support. And I doubt the Blunderduck colour is anything to be worried about (although it does have a great FF game)

Well, because that would cost us £650 (excluding controllers and games).

I'm not particularly biased, but I don't see why people love PS2 so much. The truth is, the best games will probably be spread out over many consoles.

X-box has by far the best graphics and Gamecube... have you seen the latest star wars game... Rouge Leader/Squadron/I forget, but anyway, Ganmecube is more powerful.
