i have rung them - i can get the settings such as mac address and dns, ipsettings etc.. but it still wont do anything - just says ip can not be established or something like that. thnks again tho
Yes you can use XBox Live through your set top box. My friend has that exact set up.
You have to phone NTL for your DNS details to put into your XBox. They didnt used to charge for this but they might charge you £5 for the XBox Live package they have.

Sign up for their Xbox package, just £5 a month and you get an extra line set up Xbox...
