Basically, the mother slowly begins turning, ans when she 'dies' the nurse is called. She bites the nurse, turning her too, but her twenty something year old son, Lionel, manages to lock them in the basement. He buys some tranquilisers from a mad vet in an attempt to keep them docile, but when it comes to his mothers funeral, much hilarity occurs as he wrestles to sedate his (un)dead mother.
He later visits her grave, and bikers beat him up, and urinate on his mothers grave. She rises, and bites them turning them to zombies. As the three try to get Lionel, the priest emerges, and hilariously announces "I kick @*s for God!" Then an amazing martial arts mic take ensues as he fights the zombies, however, after a fateful flykick he impales himself on a statue and gets munched.
Lionel keeps the 4 zombies (the vicar, nurse, surviving biker, and his dear old mum) in the basement, feeding them food with tranquiliser in. His fat brute uncle comes over though, entitling himself to the house. When he hears noises (which turn out to be the vicar and nurse zombie 'gittin it on' as it were) behind a door, he casually asks, "is that the one with the girl and the donkey?"
Lionels girl finds out about the zombies, and insists he kills them all with poison. The fat uncle moves in and holds a big party, however, the 'poison' is only poison to humans, and a strong stimulant to some animals (apparently including zombies). The zombies rise, supercharged, and turn the party goers to zombies.
When the Uncle, Lionel and his girl are holed up, the uncle massacres loads with two huge butcher knives, before being overwhelmed. There is also a take on Evil Dead, with Lionel taking up a lawnmower, instead of a chainsaw, to cut up zombies! At the end Lionel has to face his giant sized zombie/skeleton mother and finally stand up to her.
The film is hilarious throughout, from the intro of the expedition capturing the rat-monkey where the Brit gets bitten and the natives gravely say "he has the bite", to which he (typically Britishly) replies, "There's some Dettox in the back" as they brandish a machete, to cut off the infected area. Other highlights include the zombie baby (the Nurse and the Vicars) who gets taken to the park, but escapes from the pram and tries to bite Lionel. He falls under the swing, and the baby approaches him, so he grabs the swing and smacks it into the zombie babies face as horrified parents look on. The baby also has an Exorcist mic take where he spins his head and soews all over Lionel girl. And the scene where the zombie Vicar and zombie Nurse are gettin it on is hilarios. The vicar has a rake stuck in him, and as the two get near, it goes straight through the nurse too, and they are going up and down on the rake as carnage is all around them!
Ha, great film, wish I could get it on DVD!
