i know there are head aches when installing games and so many other problems when comparing a pc to a consle in terms of gameplay but just look at all the millions of titles relised on the pc, its amazing you can play old classics as well as the newest games which look even better then the top consoles. plus theres the added bonus of emulating most consoles (e.g gameboy, arcade machine, playstation, n64, snes, etc) on the pc so u can play all ur old favorate games and it saves space it won't be long before we can probably play all of todays top machines on the pc although it isnt the same its still an option.

in most action games like quake, half life, unreal tornement pc players use controllers such as keyboard and mouse at the same time although its a bit odd at first but when u get use to it no joypad in the world can beat it, its just pure control.

apart from playing games the pc also has many other advatages such as being able to do work and surf the net. Play the best online games way before any console even dream't of playing online games. and u can also upgrade ur pc at a low cost so it save money buying a new one. So in the long run i think pc will always come out to be the top gaming machine.

the pc unlike the console is not used only for gaming. The pc has a large number of functions, like running the operating system.
So even if you had a powerful pc your operating system would also having to be running in order for u to run a game, slowing your pc down.
the console does not have a operating system, i.e: no windows me, 98 etc so it has only one function, run games.

Plus its easy to make copies of pc software and so many companies figured to would be better to make games for consoles which are harder to make copies, where as a pc just burn a copy of any software or game in 10 mins.

So the pc will not be as powerful as most companies will not make superb games with superb graphics as it would cost too much, and profits would be too little

scenario......i get home from the pub with 3-4 mates and we all feel like playing a video game.....shall we

A) all cram round the PC
B) lounge on the comfy sofa with a controller each

as for using a keyboard and mouse to control games i have tried this only once... i think david blaine might have a few probs ....although i know that it is the prefered control method for many

so to sum up

consoles for social gaming
PCs for loners

The beauty of a PC is that it's upgradeable, and you can always play the latest games. However, the down-side of that is obviously the expense, which is phenomenal.

It also means that newly released games often can't be played on an older machine, and your always needing to upgrade the whole system.

In theory, PC gaming should be considered the better 'form' of playing games, but the expense is just too much for enough people to invest in PC gaming over consoles.
