in most action games like quake, half life, unreal tornement pc players use controllers such as keyboard and mouse at the same time although its a bit odd at first but when u get use to it no joypad in the world can beat it, its just pure control.
apart from playing games the pc also has many other advatages such as being able to do work and surf the net. Play the best online games way before any console even dream't of playing online games. and u can also upgrade ur pc at a low cost so it save money buying a new one. So in the long run i think pc will always come out to be the top gaming machine.
< PCs for loners
well PC has multiplayer games so the whole world it connected and there are games such as quake where u can play 64 players at once. And now which direction of are the consoles going too, yes thats right the way of the pc ie online games.
So even if you had a powerful pc your operating system would also having to be running in order for u to run a game, slowing your pc down.
the console does not have a operating system, i.e: no windows me, 98 etc so it has only one function, run games.
Plus its easy to make copies of pc software and so many companies figured to would be better to make games for consoles which are harder to make copies, where as a pc just burn a copy of any software or game in 10 mins.
So the pc will not be as powerful as most companies will not make superb games with superb graphics as it would cost too much, and profits would be too little
A) all cram round the PC
B) lounge on the comfy sofa with a controller each
as for using a keyboard and mouse to control games i have tried this only once... i think david blaine might have a few probs ....although i know that it is the prefered control method for many
so to sum up
consoles for social gaming
PCs for loners
;-)
It also means that newly released games often can't be played on an older machine, and your always needing to upgrade the whole system.
In theory, PC gaming should be considered the better 'form' of playing games, but the expense is just too much for enough people to invest in PC gaming over consoles.
