My ps2 plays all dvds no problem however i have just bought a music dvd "Queensyrche-live evolution"and it plays in black&white!. the company said that it was region2,i have tried it on another dvd and that was fine in colour.all the leads are correct. any ideas?
Not always the case. Our widescreen downstairs can play region 1 DVD's through my PS2 and a normal lead in colour. I tried it before I had my RGB lead.

NTSC discs will play back in black and white UNLESS you have an RGB SCART lead - not IF you have one. Doh!

Get a RGB lead. My region 1 DVD's play in black and white with the normal lead Sony give you but when I use a RGB lead its colour.
It sounds like it may not be Region 2.
Most likely problem is that it's Region 0 (i.e. all-region) and is in NTSC format.
Is your PS2 connected via SCART? If so, then it is likely that your TV does not support NTSC playback.
Playback of an NTSC DVD on a TV which doesn't support NTSC will always result in a black-and-white picture; it's not a problem with your PS2.
