Celebrate Christmas by finding out what started the war between Dringo, Edgy and the Notables.
A Notable Hunter Christmas special: In the beginning…
“Pass me the envelope,” Dringo asked holding out his hand.
“Here you are mate.” Said er-no as he slipped into Dringo’s room.
Dringo finished his pile of cards before getting out of his chair to greet his best friend.
“So er-no done all your cards?” inquired Dringo smiling at him.
“Nah I will start mine tonight” er-no replied. Dringo didn’t need to hear that he knew er-no inside and out he always left things to the last minute.
“Right gotta give these out” Dringo said beckoning towards the door. Er-no and Dringo left and headed down the road, it was nearly Christmas and it was bitterly cold especially in and around SR towers. As Dringo and er-no headed along the road they bumped into Inman.
“Hi Dringo what you up to today?” asked Inman,
“Off to SR towers once again” he replied “what are you up to?”
“I’m off to see Edgy,” said Inman.
Inman was the head of SR what he said went and he was such a great guy everyone knew him; he was tall with short black hair.
Tony sat besides Ali in the cafeteria.
“You asked him yet?” Ali inquired.
“Ask who what?” deputy head Tony inquired?
“About the Notable idea” Ali said as if he had repeated it for the tenth time.
“Look I told you Dringo and Edgy talked him out of it he won’t change his mind!” Tony insisted picking up the paper.
“Isn’t Grix, FM, Richard, Flipper, Bert, Sniper and Meka supposed to have a word with him” Ali said.
“Yeah but will that do any good?” asked Tony, Ali aware the question was hypothetical decided not to answer.
“No” said Inman as he walked with Edgy.
“Go on” persisted Grix “we would have me, FM, Richard, Flipper, Bert Sniper and Meka all as notables the rest regulars and everyone after that Newbies” Grix sounded eager and Inman could see this.
“Look Grix I don’t want to risk their being any diversions between people lets keep the current system!” Inman said nicely.
“I think it’s a bad idea as does Dringo he isn’t the only one,” added Edgy.
“Please Inman we’ll fall behind times, Gameaday is a great idea but it needs something new think about it” FM pleaded.
“I have thought about it and I’m afraid my decision stands why should you guys be notables and others not? You gain respect for being you not for a gold name lets just leave it at that!” Inman said quickening his pace to avoid them.
The notable idea developed from the brain of deputy manager Tony with the help of good friend Ali, Inman the owner of the company and good friend to Dringo and Edgy declined the idea but both Tony and Ali realize that without the notable idea Gameaday will continue to remain a little known area of the internet.
“It just isn’t working is it” Tony sighed after receiving news that Inman isn’t about to change his mind.
“There is a way,” Ali said.
“No there isn’t Inman’s decision is final he hates the idea” Meka reinforced.
“Yes but Tony thinks it is excellent,” Ali added.
“I don’t make the decisions though!” Tony said glumly.
“Yes but if Inman was to retire you would!” Sniper said springing from his chair in Tony’s office at the top of SR towers.
“Inman’s 22 he aint about to retire soon” Bert pointed out.
“He doesn’t have to retire though does he Ali?” Flipper asked.
“Yes what would happen if Inman came to an UNFORTUNATE accident?” Ali said raising his eyebrow.
“What are you saying?” asked Richard well aware of what Ali means.
“Lets do it!” Grix said leaping off of his chair.
“When?” asked FM.
“Tonight!” added Grix.
“Check mate” said Dringo as Edgy shook his head at another loss.
“I face the winner,” Inman pointed out. It was cold outside, a blizzard had begun and it was very dark, in order to avoid the awful weather Dringo and Edgy decided to stay round with him.
“So when…” was all Dringo could say before the entire house plunged into darkness.
“Power cut,” said Inman looking to the lights. Inman rummaged through the kitchen drawer and pulled out a rather old lantern.
“Its still light next door must be just us,” said Dringo looking out of the window.
“Maybe we blew a fuse I’ll go look said Inman disappearing up the stairs.
Dringo sat down and begun to pack the chess pieces away, “nearly Christmas” said Dringo.
“Is it really?” said a sarcastic Edgy who was still annoyed after losing again, Dringo never dared gloat Edgy would pound him if he did. They were quite a nice pair both very strong and both very clever, Edgy has more strength than Dringo but Dringo is slightly more logical.
Inman reached the attic and brought down the ladder, he hated going up there during the day but he hated it even more at night as he crawled through the small gap in the roof. He stumbled over some boxes before reaching the fuse box.
“That’s odd it’s been opened” Inman said to himself. He noticed the wires had been pulled out as well and he placed them back in. The lights sprung back on. A confused Inman heard a noise behind him; he spun around to see a gun pointed at him. He let out a startled cry as the gun was fired. Inman fell to the floor, dead.
“What the hell was that?” Dringo yelled as he stood up. Both Dringo and Edgy darted to stairs and ran upstairs to see a dark figure disappear out of the window. Edgy went in pursuit as Dringo went into the attic. Dringo saw the limp body of Inman on the floor and approached with caution. Blood was sprawled across the floor. Dringo reached forward and felt for a pulse, nothing.
“Oh no” Dringo sobbed as he fell to his knees.
The mysterious figure was escaping via the drainpipe as Edgy poked his head out of the window. His eyes darted around the room when he spotted an axe beside the fireplace. Edgy placed it between his teeth and lunged out of the window. Almost like a spider Edgy clambered up the wall of the building in pursuit of the stranger who had reached the top. Edgy leaped the final few meters to the top and saw the figure escape towards a helicopter that was all ready in flight. The figure grabbed the rope ladder as the helicopter took flight. Edgy ran and jumped cutting the ladder with his axe. The figure fell from the ladder and the figure crashed to the floor. Edgy slammed the axe besides the figure that was wearing a mask. The figure rolled but Edgy stood on his chest removing the mask.
“Grix?!?!?” a shocked Edgy said, Grix grabbed Edgy’s foot pulling him over. Grix got up and ran to the helicopter where another ladder had been lowered. He held onto it as it flew off.
Edgy got to his feet axe in hand as he wiped the snow off of his forehead.
“He’s dead” said Dringo emerging behind him. Both Edgy and Dringo stood atop Inman’s house watching as Grix and co. flew away.
3 Months Later.
The death of Inman has left everyone’s mind they all placed blame on Edgy and Dringo who had disappeared at the same time of Inman’s death. The Notable idea had gone ahead and the talented Tony now ran Ukdiscussions and approved the idea. The next votes were in and er-no was voted in, Gameaday was now bigger and the world seemed a happy place. Until…
“So Richard was found dead in the lake?” Sniper inquired
“Yes and Burt was found in his flat with a knife in his skull” er-no informed.
“Are we all here?” asked Sheepy
“NO Flipper isn’t here, he’s always late…” Informed Grix.
Flipper was late for the Notable meting again he knew there was an emergency going on several grizzly murders involving his team mates had occurred, this was serious stuff and it wasn’t good that he was late. It was dark as Flipper ran through the streets towards SR towers, he looked at the Notable floor, indeed the lights were on the meeting must have started. He carried on running until two figures appeared in his path. Flipper couldn’t believe his eyes, it couldn’t be! he thought. Which was his last though as one of the figures swung a sword, beheading flipper in one swipe. The two disappeared into the Darkness.
Ali walked along the path until he tripped, falling to the floor, Ali grazed his knee, he sat up and tried to see what he fell over, there he saw hair, he moved nearer, he saw eyes, Flipper’s eyes. In a blind panic Ali dashed along the path and burst into SR towers and up to the Notable floor he saw er-no on the stairs:
“Flipper is dead” yelled an exhausted Ali, er-no was the only one who heared and he turned into the room
“There’s been another,” said er-no addressing the Notables.
“What’s going on?” Sniper said trying not to panic.
“Who could be doing this?” asked Meka. The Notables fell silent as er-no sat at his desk.
“I’m afraid we have a problem, we though they had gone for good but it seems as if they have returned to seek vengeance on their fallen friend.” Er-no said, “They are of the up most intelligence, their ability in pure strength is unmatched anywhere else, they have abilities no other person posses” er-no continued.
“You don’t mean…” said Grix
“Our old friends are back” finished er-no.
The end.
Dringo is dead Edgy is in turmoil the Notables have brand-new weapons to prevent attack from the hunter and now they have recruited both Rastabillyskank and Goatboy. Is this the beginning of the end for the Notable Hunters?

"Looks like it's just you and me now Grix... there's no-one left to save you now!" Dringo wrote... "No longer will you dominate the forums with your evil ways!"
Dringo watched the screen as a sentence appeared before him.
YOU HAVE BEEN BLOCKED BY GRIX THRAVES AND WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO SEND OR RECEIVE MESSAGES FROM HIM.
Hmmm... this Grix, he was good. Dringo knew about his evil plans to take over the world, starting with Special Reserve... he knew he was the only one that could stop him.
He quickly closed the Messenger and returned to the forums.
He clicked New Topic.
"Grix? Why have you blocked me?"
Trying to grasp popularity, Dringo continued onwards, trying to open the eyes of the people to how evil Grix really was.
He didn't have to wait long for a reply.
"Because I think you're a gimp." Was his reply.
The only other reply was from er-no, which simply stated: "lol"
But this only angered Dringo more... these notables! They thought they were so high and mighty!... He would show them!
But it would take time... much time...
To be continued...
