Lord of the Rings must now rank alongside he all time great drugs movies, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was nothing compared to Frodo's weed obsession. I wonder if the man behind the Magic Roundabout and Bagpuss had anything to do with the Lord of the Rings adaptation...

Lol! And anyway, I never said anyone was taking it too seriously. The film was quite good, but the book is the best I have read, just inputting my understanding into this highly educating mud-slinging match :)

But, in the book, gandalfs smoking was more or less a fundamental part of the story - it helps to bring him to life in your mind. I don't think its sometyhing they could leave out of the movie.
I was horrified and amazed that such blatant drug-abuse messages were included.
Mind you, it can't have been written on drugs.
