Today made me wonder what’s wrong with the music industry today after watching a spell of CD:UK and then Top Of The Pops 2. Basically, CD:UK had their usual chart rundown and stuff but there was a difference! This time it was the ‘Christmas Chart Rundown’ but did I see one Christmas song? No?

Whilst watching these two programmes I realised that ‘festive’ just doesn’t happen at this festive time of the year in music anymore. This years Christmas number one is set to be a pop star and movie star singing together in their video and then it explodes into some home-made porno! What is wrong with the world? Christmas number one’s these days are either some weird ‘Never to be seen at number one’ song, a song to rip off children with cartoon characters pouncing around or some boy band. The songs only festive if it’s a cover of another band from about a decade or so ago.

I never lived in the 70’s or 80’s, but the time around Christmas must of felt so much better then. Soon, the CD’s brought out at Christmas will have a load of songs with nothing to do about this time of year and the ones that do will be classics which everyone has heard so many times.

Maybe a few groups of artist’s could come together and make a song for Charity much like ‘Band Aid’ or are they all to worried about making large amounts of money for themselves?

Why can’t people produce some classic Christmas songs these days? Is it so hard to mention the word – ‘Christmas’ – In a song?

Soon we’ll all be scrooge’s I tells ya!

HMV? Is it just me or is my HMV rubbish? They sell everything else but when i look for what i want its not there, but others say its in another store! grrrrr

Check out a few Onelinedrawing songs if you can, I don't think they have the E.P's in music stores but download some if you like :-)

Jonahs a great singer, don't you agree?

HMV have it for £5.99!! But it's under rival schools not onelinedrawing.

I saw it today and decided it was a must have and boy was it worth it. Great stuff.

I'm currently listening to Hostage though off Thriller. It's brilliant!

This is wierd..........I was just about to type a post on Rival Schools United By Onelinedrawing as I am listening to 'Always' now.

Yep, Onelinedrawing is Jonahs side project and it has some great songs. In fact, most on the NEO album are Onelinedrawing remakes.

No-ones really sure why they made this album, I think Jonah and the Rival Schools just really wanted to work together and it worked very well :-)

Where did you buy that album? I want it! hehe

hia MWA, still haven't got round to posting my NEO review but I wrote half of it in word today. I was just wondering about a cd I bought today..

It's called Rival Schools United by Onelinedrawing.. is this Jonah and Rival Schools or something else?

It's pretty good, I was just wondering about the background as the cd itself reveals nothing other than where it was recorded and the tracks and stuff.

My favourite Xmas number 1 ever was "Bring your daughter to the Slaughter" by Iron Maiden.

And it's true, go look it up.
