I don't think I'm alone here when I say that it is immensely satisfying to blast coppers, and innocent people with all manner of brutal weapons on games like Vice city.

I actually love doing it. I mean c'mon, its the games selling point. If all you had to throw at people was harsh language, would it sell as many copies?

Stealing someones car, then killing them, before having a lengthy car chase, then killing as many police as you can before they take you down, its like living out some forbidden dream.

And other games like king-pin, where you can hire people to beat other people to death on the street right in front of your eyes. Or max payne, where you can watch bullets hit people in slow motion and tear their bodies to pieces. I play games simply because you can do that. And I'm sure the millions of people that buy these games buy them for the same reasons.

I've come up with the perfect description for this genre - morally bankrupt.

So, are we all sick ? :o)

No we are not sick, we just enjoy playing it as a harmless game, it doesnt mean that we want to go out on to the streets and do it for real...

No. I'm an axe-wielding maniac and I'm currently spilling the human brains I'm trying to munch on over the keyboard as I type these words with a frenzied look in my feverish eyes.

I think there are probably two major factors in how much of an influence games can have on you. One is most certainly your state of mind of how easily influenced you are as a person, another is without a doubt your age. Kids are prone to hero-worship so if Mr Cool wants to tote a pistol, steal cars, maim people and curse, they can in their eyes. There's definately a danger that kids will aspire to be like their gaming heroes, in a similar way fans aspire to be like their rap gods (not all, just a select mentally deficient few).

I think most of us are pretty safe, I mean, we're all well-adjusted adults, right?
