It really depends on how much money you've got... If you've got money to burn, then getting a system for 4 games (or a gun for one or two games) may not exactly be 'worth it' but if you've got the money to spare, why not?
I don't have the money to spare, so... I'll buy cheap second hand stuff... or win GADs!

Is a GC worth getting, just for four games?

In my opinion yes it is worth getting a gun for just one or two good shooting games.
Maybe that's why, cuz the N64 games weren't simple enough. And anyway, if there was a gun for Perfect Dark or Goldeneye, how would you move around?? Surely you couldn't use a controller as well??? Maybe it would move automatically, like in 'Die Hard Trilogy' for the PS. But then that would just eliminate the element of 'exploring' in each mission, which was a hugely important factor of both games. I don't really see it possible to have the controller buttons also added to the gun.
Maybe the gun would only work in the 'training mode', that would still be highly effective. Bu there'd be no point really in training with something you can't use in the missions.
But with the GameCube's technology and Nintendo's experience, if there was a GC Gun, then it would surely be the best around!!
I doubt Nintendo themselves will develop a light gun, as the only light gun that was a hit for Nintendo was the NES gun that came with Duck Hunter, and the Snes Bazooka style light gun was pretty much a failure. Some third parties may develop light guns, and we might see some guns compatible with multiple consoles from third parties. Whether or not that includes GC we don't know...
