Daveli was awoken by a knock on his door. It was 9am, Daveli didn't much care for getting out of bed before 10, especially after a heavy night on the ale, so he was rather annoyed.

The knocking continued, louder, more urgent.

"Hang on" cried Daveli, pulling on his trousers, and least smelly jumper.

He opened the door to see an old friend. "Bourbon! what bring's you to these parts?"

"Daveli of Pimlico" Spoke Bourbon, the wizard, Daveli's face dropped further still, to be addressed in such a matter it would have to be serious.

"Bourbon! How are things? Are you well?" Asked Daveli, trying to stall the inevitable call to duty for some strange quest or another.

"I'm alright, Daveli, haven't got much time though, after seeing you I have to enlist the help of the elves!"

"Well, as long as you've got your elf!" Daveli smiled. "Go on then Bourbon, what's the quest this time?"

"Daveli of Pimlico, I come to you with regards to a most urgent quest. Saurbum has once again emerged from the darkness he was once trapped in. You must travel to Soho immediately, and seek out the ring of Sumyunguy. I shall meet you at the 'Hobbling Horse' in a weeks time."

With that Bourbon turned and left. Daveli was left to gather his things together for yet another fabulous journey.

The road to the 'Hobbling Horse' was long and filled with many perils. Yet the intrepid Daveli embarked on the first stage of his adventure with neither fear nor apprehension. Mounting his trusty steed, the "bewheelèd metal frame" from the kingdom of Raleigh, he set off at a furious pace.

Suddenly disaster struck. The infamous Plod of Ecilop stepped out into the well-trod road.

"O acursed fool stop thee!" he bellowed angrily at Daveli, diffusing his vile breath over him. Daveli winced a little than stared into the eyes of his tormentor. While they may have been cerulean blue, they concealed a soul as black as night.

"In this kingdom it is a violation of the law to ride your metallic steed without light. This is punishable by a fight to deat..." Plod was prevented from continuing by the sacred dagger of homeworld that protruded from his chest. Daveli left Plod behind...

Cue tolkien-esque subplot about the reaction of the locals when they found that their law-giving dictator was dead

Meanwhile Daveli travelled on... what further adventures awaited him?
