WooHoo! At last, some acknowledgement of the written word still holding its own in this crazy modern world of moving pictures and aural madness!

From this day forth, myself, Stryke and YH (oh and some others who's names escape me - sorry guys) can legitamately come here to talk about books! No longer will be cast aside as "weirdos", never again will we read "What are you guys talkin' about books for, this is a DVD forum!"

Nyar!

I'm bored, I'm outta here, goodbye folks!

You really should give this book a go.

I had to read "Notes from a small island" as part of my English A level. It sucked, kind of amusing at first but then it just got plain repetetive. The mobile phone thingy was quite funny though.......

I am in full agreement with you there Ant. Look out for Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife or the Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman. Engrossing. I found myself phoning the bookstore every week asking when the third one was going to be out!

Oh, and read the Hobbit, LotR, and the Silmarillion by JRR Tolkein. But that goes without saying!

Yay!! Some recognition for books.

Oh yeah, and for comedy try and of the Red Dwarf books, or Rob Grant's latest masterpiece, Colony (reading this for a third time now. {:))

For those with an IQ larger than your shoe size, David Gemmell books are really good.

I've read all his books, but enjoyed the Lost Continent the most. Taking the mick out of Americans, superb. And Down Under was also hilarious.

Meg and Mog rule!

I'm going to buy all those books for my offspring (if I'm careless enough to have any)

I disagree. Surely the Worst Witch was the greatest fantasy book ever.

AND I READ MEG'S EGGS, all those years ago!
