Right.

My DVD-ROM is locked on Region 1. And DVD genie and DVD region killer cant change it, becasue its the actual Drive which is locked.

So does anyone know where i can get the firmware to reflash my drive? Its a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-500M.

I tried a few search's but just cant seem to fin the firmware for my my model. Anyone able to help?

Much appreciated.

Yes it was suppose to come out in Jan. Then the site said it was temporiarly out of stock. Went to another site and it said it had been released. Then Play247 had it with a 2nd Jan release. Then I saw it said in stock yesterday. So looked at my account and it was posted the 18th.

They offer good service and very good prices. The delevery is some times a little slow but it does come from Jersey and the Royal Mail isnt the most effecient service.

Yeh, I ordered it from there. It supposed to coming out in Jan, but i dont mind :D Proper wicked DVD though, enough extras, and a cool 8 camera interactive stunt scene.

Order nearly all my things from there. Some of the best prices on the net.

Tons of links on here. I remember I was looking for DVD hacking stuff. Becareful with firmware as if its not updated correctly it will ruin the drive. Also if you have any RCE region 1 movies if you dont have the DVD set as region 1 you wont be able to play them.

I bought Final Fantasy Spirits Within, which is RCE. I tried to find software that could play it and it couldnt play. I had DVD genie and by accident set the actual drive to region 1. It played fine. I've kept it at region 1 as I dont use it for any other software DVD's. If you want to use region 2 just use powerDVD and then use DVD genie to change it to region 2.

I would recommend only updating the Firmware if you know what you are doing and have done it before, or if its really necessary.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Just a quick note to say thanks for a very good service ... in fact excellent service..
