Sega has officially dropped the price of the Dreamcast in America and Europe. Currently retailing at $199 in America the DC will now cost $149. Usually, our side of the Atlantic sees an equal in number but not in price approach to marketing, so expect the UK machine to have a £149 price tag slapped all over it's mug. Hmm, £149 for, a machine with a innovative catalogue, online capabilities and, through Bleemcast!, the ability to play Playstation games? Tell all your friends now!
:)
So in Japan, the PS2 is selling like no - other console around - but the games line-up is just poor - at best 'average. The Japanese buy PS2 for DVD usage mainly, and Sony is losing money rapidly, however it still has much more than Sega.
So, whatever happens in the near future, I hope and beleive Sega's White Box will survive and succeed - it certainly deserves to. maybe some killer advertising will help come XMas.
Who Knows?
