Just seen some news stating that 10% of all homes in the UK now have a DVD in there home, that does not sound much but it took VHS 7 years to get to a similar level.

So i wonder if the PS2 has any effect on this, or if they did not include the PS2 figures, i wonder how the figure would change...

You could proably do a lot with YABASIC, if you had the programming knowledge and if you could be @rsed.
I don't know if this was true, I just heard it somewhere. Why else would Sony include a program for people to make their own programs. Its not like it would influence someone to buy a PS2.

Yer i know what you mean, but i think the results were based on comsumer reaech that didnt include the PS2 - its like saying they included imported x-boxes, they didnt its only proper DVD players

I think Sony wanted it as an entertainment system because it was a cheaper price on tax or something.
Apparently thats why they included YABASIC, so that it couldn't just be counted as a games console.

Yes but PS2 is classed as an entertainment system, i dont think it comes under console, or thats what Sony wanted.

yer - they probably based it on people that have brought DVD players as they are for only one function where as PS2 are game consoles at heart and are probably not counted
