I can't remember where I saw the post but someone was saying that as great as PC hardware is the games are far behind, eg only need minimum specs to play. There's a good reason for this, there are so many older PC's out there that were top of the range a few years ago but now seem a bit behind the times. The developers want to sell to as big a range as possible, so they have to make the games run on relatively low spec hardware.
Just imagine if every new game that came out only would only run on the latest hardware, you'd have to update your PC monthly! And just how many of you out there have a 1.1GHtz processor, or 256MB RAM? It's just the same as a console developer bringing out a new console. You now need "X" to play our best games. On the PC it's you now need "X" processor, "Y" RAM available "z" graphics card, etc.
