Right don't want to, but have to ;¬)
I'm just about to buy an iPad2 for my spoilt littleish boy - can't afford one for myself!
It's going to be the cheapest 16GB version which everyone seems to have for £399.
Whether it's Apple, JohnLewis or Argos they are all £399
*cough* monopoly! :¬(
Should I but from Apple 'cos they will offer me more support or is there a better place to get it from? Anyone offering a free case or something?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
It only seems a short while ago when I bought the little fella his very first MP3 Player from Freeola - back in the day! *sigh*
His second one (and his sisters') was also from Freeola a purple USB jobbie - but I can't seem to find them in my tech museum to take a photo.

I guess coupons + cashback are your best bets. Tesco is a good place to start, theres always coupons around to get £10/£15/£25 off.
18th, so apparently you have to go the extra mile.
I'll take a look at Tesco.
I did have a play with Samsung's Tablet - plays Flash. But unless I picked a bad one it just wasn't as nice to use as 'the other tablet'.
HTC's new 10" job (I like HTC) looks like it's going to be big money and I need to pick one up in the next couple of days.

Yep, just had quick look around and it certainly looks as though there is some highly dubious price fixing going on with Ipad2's at the moment as they are the exactly the same price everywhere. But seeing as I'm nice I found you this, how about an original Ipad 64GB with wi-fi and 3G for the same price?
Ipad 64GB £399
2% Quidco cashback as well which knocks a few quid off. Seeing as I know sod all about Ipad's this deal may well be terrible (as I don't really know the difference between an Ipad 1 & 2, presume slightly less powerful processor/RAM ?) but it seemed a better spec unit for your £400 to me. Apologies if I'm talking through my bum but I thought it was worth a mention.
That does sound good - must (might) be a catch with the 3G Plan as it seems too good?
My problem will be that I need to 'pick one up' as I've left things late.
Got to rush - but back in the morningas normal

Sorry Garin - I do feel bad! But it really is for my son!

Was 21 in my day ... infact, always will be :¬)
Still, depends on the importance of the 3G and 64GB I think.
Your son already has an iPod Touch right? Better start saving for the 27" iMac for his 21st.
I guess the price is the same everywhere for the iPad because it already sells itself, they don't need to offer a discount.
As an owner of a first gen iPad I would strongly recommend an iPad 2, unless your son can wait 7 months for the 3rd generation* which will be even better! By the way, does he want a white one or a black one? What about one of those magic covers?
The best place to get an iPad 2 16GB is K's Denki for £341 (including 5% VAT). Unfortunately they're closed on Thursdays so I can't get it for you Hmmm. :(
Ignoring the lack of flash and an sd card slot, what could they possibly add to the iPad to make it better other than slimmer, lighter and faster?
As for pricing, Apple don't give bulk discounts for other retailers and since the cost to them is pretty much the same margin as Apple is making you get the same price across the board.
Certainly if you already shop at Tesco there are some double points for vouchers offers at the moment. Currys have a lot of Apple discounts too, and even Apple have a reconditioned area on their retail site that occasionally has cheaper iPads.
Sorry wasn't paying attention, yes it will be an iPad2 - that explains why Pete's link was so cheap.
I'll pop out later and see what I can find - for £399...
Thanks,
