I recently saw some pictures of the original ideas for PS2 and they ranged from ultra-snazzy high-tech beasts to bland, plain-looking PSone's.
One was a strange Dreamcast-like piece of machinery, and it had a LCD screen on the top. It was top-loading like the PSone, and had four controller ports. Looked very nice indeed.
Then there was the circular creation that looked more like one of those tiny SONY DVD players. It looked slightly bigger than a CD Walkman and was very stylish indeed.
The other picture I saw was basically a PS that was multicoloured and had amazing technical specifications. It looked old and unappealing, but it would have been a fantastic makeover for the original PS.
If anyone knows where I can find other pictures of the original ideas for PS2, then please let me know.
Cheers.
Can't say I'm impressed.
There's some new PS3 concept designs that came up, which were mostly crap.
...I might have to do some searching and if I find anything I'll let you know where from.
There was a really cool silver one with a little screen on the top - I liked that one the best. And one that looked like a lean, mean grilling machine.
No idea where you can get the piccie from.
I saw mine in various mags.
