I'm interested in hosting my site here, but I'm looking at making a WAP page with PHP behind it. Also it will access ODBC databases, which on my machine are hosted using the Control Panel settings.

Will it work?

Thanks.

Freeola don't run ODBC, as to hardly anyone else. Use MySQL, it *is* much easier than ODBC. Believe me, I've done both.

I always wondered what ODBC was...

I use ODBC and have it working because it's the easiest I could get set up with the minimum of fuss on my own PC. I'm new to PHP but all I want was to link it to an Access database, and that was the first way I found to do it.

Back to my question, will all this be compatible with the Freeola servers? I don't know enough about networking really. As for WAP, unless there's something else, what stops you putting WML pages on a standard server? Not sure that works.

I't special because the standard screen width is 550px or something, as opposed to 800 normally. This site on a DC has vertical scrolling.

That's why the site was called UKTVres.com.

How is this done??

Start with WML and XHTML and possiblt cHTML?

>Also, I'm not bothered now, as Dreamcast isn't really wide spread enough, but how are Web Pages done for this???
Is it normal HTML or something new?? I only ask as SR made a special site for Dreamcast viewers, and I woulnd't mind knowing how, as it looked pretty interesting.

The same as any other website it's just repurposed for TV. It's still built, and delivered the same way.

No. PHP does have ODBC modules but you realy would be better off running a free and much more secure MySQL database. Download it from mysql.org, and use phpMyAdmin to administer it. Just search google.

As for WAP... I'm not sure how it works but it'd probably work. Just out of curiosity, why do you want to use ODBC?
