Hey why do we Uk gamers have to wait a long time to get our hands on FFX. I mean look how fast it was translated into English fo the American version in about five months and in terms of weeks even less than five months.

My question is why we have to wait until summer which is approximately eight months (in August) or seven (if its in July, which is the earliest will get to see this game). Ok so far the team have translated the menus, subtitles and even the voice acting into English. The game is also near perfect in every technical aspect so there is nothing much to improve.

The only thing the team have to do is to translate the menus and subtitles into other languages such as French, Spanish, German etc. The voice acting will be the same as the American version and also changing the signal to PAL.

So why do we have to wait so long when what they have to do can take about three months at most especially because they have shown us how fast they can translate the whole game into English.

One reason could be that the xbox and Gc has launched in the Us which has lead to Sony manipulating release dates so that they come forward to the holiday season (christmas) and this also has been shown with the release of Ico and MGS2 being released in the UK even before they are released in Japan yet they are made by Japanese developers.

So does that mean that until a European based company releases a very powerful console that we will be getting games quite early some even more earlier than in Japan. Though one Japanese company that has treated the PAL market quite well is Konami they have given us very good games this year and we didnt have to wait very long after the Japanese release.

So back to answering the main question, is it until Europe has its own console? I'd reply to that with a yes, because then due to competition every big player in the games industry will be focusing the most of their attention on the European market just like what is happening in the US. So lets hope one day Europe gets a console created by a European console that is so powerful compaered to its competition, even if it will flop, I'm sure it will have firightened the competition a bit and thus during its life time there will be killer games coming out in Europe even before Japan and Us.

And maybe because of this console Nintendo (if it will exist at that time) will treat the European market withmuch more respect.

Thanks for reading

Many thanks... I think the industry is going about piracy in the wrong way.. making it hard for people to do it, rather than making people not want to do it at all!

Oh, and what's with the screen name??? Something out of a game?

This is VERY RARE.

This has only happened due to:

1) Biggest games sales in America are at thanksgiving... NOT xmas as in Japan.

2) release of xbox.

Read my post on piracy in prime... I've giving my solution to the whole problem, and most of it is based on delays in games.

Several reasons really:

*Games to be sold in Europe not only have to be changed to PAL, but must be translated into French, German and Spanish too!

*European gamers WILL wait for overpriced, underpowered games simply because they have no alternative (IMPORT PEOPLE!!!!!)

*Japan always comes first for publishers who reside there... so the Japs HAVE to be first, even though the European market makes more money than they do!

Thats disrespect from Square because they know its going to sell loads of copies whenever its released(I am also going to get it), their behaving the same like Nintendo. Oooooooh I forgot they used to be good friends in the past maybe thats where they got the bad habit from.
