WHAT!!!!?????!!!!! I've got one of these "funny" friends, who after reading the spoiler came to me and said "Woah, have you heard the news about MGS2???" and I replied;
"The spoiler you mean? No, and I don't want to hear about it either thankyou very much"
He said:
"Oh, so you don't want to know that you don't play the game as Snake then?"
Funny eh? So, then I had to read the review and see the new "hero". I was not impressed. As if that wasn't bad enough the magazine described Raiden/ Jack as having "suspiciously heavy thighs" then I saw the screen shots of some blonde haired, surfer dude hanging from a ledge and displaying his almighty behind. Please God, let this be a windup, i thought. But no dice.
The magazine even came right out and said "the guy is clearly not as cool as snake" how is that inspiring us to play?
Does anyone understand why Kojima has done this? Kept the game shrouded in mystery before its release. I was thinking ooh, complex twist story, cracking! Oh but no. None of that, well some of that, but it seems that Kojima wanted to hide the fact that you play the bulk of the game as a remarkably inferior character with even stupider hair!
Go, Kojima! Your praise is thouroughly undeserved.
Why? Its just like Game Of Death 2, which you only watch because your a hardened Bruce Lee fan and you sit all excited for 15 minutes before the fool jumps offa cliff and you sit through an amazingly empty 1 3/4 hours of film.
Why couldn't he have been hiding something good?
I ask you this, those of you who've had it ruined... if we'd known that we are to play as "Jack" for the larger part of the game, would the hype have been even nearly the same?
This reporter says no!
Also they took just under 20 hours playing it on normal and watching every cut scene. They say if you play it on easy and skip every cut scene you can complete it in around 6 hours.
I think you get to swap between both characters during the game so that will be good.
I also heard that for the next MGS they were trying to choose who was going to be the next character. The chooses were Snake, Raiden, or Otacon.
I mean who wants to play as Otacon!???
He is meant to be more athletic but i dont like him.
