I suppose the advantage of the pack is that you can transfer one of your games information (e.g. a wrestler) to someone elses cartridge.
Also on this subject does anyone remember the NeoGeo console of the early 90's. It had a memory pack feature that you could use in arcade games, then continue your game at home! (But if you had the game at home why would you pay to play it in an arcade)
