When I was 10, there was a poetry competition for year 6's across
Essex, and the top 100 made it into a book. Well, I made the top 100 with a poem called Minotaur, and i've got the book buried in my cupboard somewhere. I though i'd share this with you because I thought it was really good at the time, obviously i'm a lot older now, but i'm still proud of my efforts. So, from a 10 year old Biggie...
Minotaur
A demon black eye, sharp lethal claws, and a greasy mouth
And hair the colours of the sky at night
The Minotaur is approaching, Deadly and fierce
The Minotaur is approaching...
With teeth like the tip of a cane, and the roar of a lion
And legs exactly like the pillars of the gates to hell
The Minotaur is approaching, Fierce and deadly
The Minotaur is approaching...
Living on an island surrounded by poisonous water.
The cyclops is as lethal as a steel blade
The Minotaur is appoaching, Deadly and fierce
The Mintoaur is approaching...
Surrounded with goblins, gremlins and dwarves,
Treated like Egyptian slaves,
The Minotaur is approaching, Fierce and deadly,
The Mintoaur is approaching...
Vicious, cunning enemies, the Minotaur is wanted for dead
One day, a fierce, worthy soldier, will come back with its head
The Minotaur is dying, slowly and painfully,
The Minotaur is dying...
