even if your cd writer does not support over 80 min cd's there is a little part in most burning software which allows you to overburn your cd.

No you can't, that's just stupid.
To burn CDs over 700MB your writer has to be overburn compatible, otherwise it just won't work at all.
A CD is an optical disk, it can hardly damage a CD-Writer, believing that it can is, simply, stupid.
