Man, I put DX 9.1 on my PC the other day and it worked fine until I tried Morrowind. Now I am getting erratic frame rates and glitchy sound, when before 9.1 it was working fine. I know DX is part of the system when installed, so is there any way of getting rid of it without re-installing XP?

Hi,

Just woke up.....if you don't want to lose everything you have done to yor pc since installing DX9 then use the uninstaller program available at the address below (it works, i've used it)

Nah it's something I've tried, the system refuses to understand that you wish to downgrade to a previous version. "You've already got direct x 8.1 or higher" it whines

Quite.

I thought you could just get a DirectX 8.1 installer, tell it to replace all newer files with the 8.1 editions and hit install.

Though I might be thinking a bit simplisticly and ignoring the fact that XP is designed to be idiot proof, which also makes it intelligence proof.
