Some of the captures will be down to a bit of good fortune (everyone else's fish) and some will be 'fished for and caught' - you're fish.
But in the end the result will be very tight.
The weather has been unsetled for over a month at the time of writing so accurate catch reports are thin on the ground but we did nip out of PSM for a dangle last week/early this week and.......
Callig are plentiful to fresh baits or lures, with many in the 4 to 5lb range. a few Cod and Ling about ,the Ling tending to be a bit smaller than usual average size.Ballan and Cuckoo Wrasse. Also plenty of Dogs if at anchor. plus the odd Pout and Poor Cod.
On sand Mackerel,Herring,Launce and occasional Coalfish, all tending to be more dispersed than a month earlier.Once baits go down more Dogbags then Plaice,Dab,Grey Gurnard,Dragonet,Scorpion fish with Red and Tubs due anytime ( particularly reds).
We did'nt fish any whiting grounds but they will be about.
Huss and Spurs etc will be further offshore.
As long as rigs are in scale with the intended target fish and the bait is appropriate, most of the pressure should be on the skippers shoulders to put you within range on the day.
Christmas tree rigs can occasionally work, but if your do end up fishing near the Club President try not to be distracted, even if he does look happy.
