I have been following this and I just need to ask a few questions to anyone in the (official) know:
1: When you pay for the PS2, what comes with it?
2: What accessories will be available and for what price?
3: Is there going to be a "Cheat Cartridge" available?
4: Is there a site where you can see what is available, and is there a site where you can download rolling demos of the PS2 games???

I'm not posting this in any 'official' capacity, but I believe it to be pretty accurate.
When you buy a PS2, you get the machine and one Dual Shock 2 controller. As far as I know, there is no memory card supplied, which is a bit of a downer.
A full list of current peripherals, and some downloadable video clips, can be found at: http://www.dailyradar.co.uk/published/sony/index.shtml
Also, the UK unit has been re-designed. Modems and hard drives should fir internally in UK/US/Euro models, and the DVD software has been transferred to the hardware, rather than the software version offered to the Japanese market.
