I find it funny when people always think there console is better because it has like 100Mhz more of speed of its a small nifty box etc, you get this a lot with these people who play PC games. The point is consoles are for class games. When Sony first made the PS its outcome was unclear. It was a new entering into the market to go up against Sega and nintendo, long established firms i may ad. There where critics, but the great games it provided made it sell above the rest even though it ddnt have as much power or speed - even at one point completeing with the DC. A few years on we now are coming up to 2002. The point im saying is that Sony came into the market and the future was unclear. Sega is now out of the race completely but is being replaced by a new challenger to the title of great games console (that the PS2 has won for this year) but could X-Box do to the games industry what the Playstation did?
The answer could be yes if it actaully signed up the right games, but really the PS has the right games with sequels so does it stand a chance?
The GC is the only new console that doesnt have DVD - s0omething which although some may say is of poor quality IS a selling point of the PS2. So let us unite in this forum and show the GC and XBox people that we have the better selection of games, ans will wi the console war in the end. The futures bright, the futures PS2,3,4,5 :)

I think the graphics thing you sepak of ssxpro, was down to the hardware limitations as opposed to the developers choosing to makes their games look cartoony.

I'm not saying that Nintendo don't have cartoony games, they obviously do.

What does annoy me is when people make stupid comments like the one MrMatrix made in his initials post. It shows no intelligence at all. It hardly takes much effort to look at a list of XBox launch titles and see that a statement like:

Is utter rubbish.

Thanks for seeing my point of view ssxpro, i know the PS ansd PS2 have some cartoony games but as you say nearly all the games on the 64 were cartoony and it seems thats how the GC and X-Box will go from what ive seen.

As you have shown, there are games on PS2 that are cartoony in style. However, it is not the fact that there are "some" cartoony games that is the problem. Its when "most" games look cartoony that things become difficult. The N64 had occasional titles that were less cartoony, but even games such as Goldeneye and Perfect Dark had that soft focus smeared edges style to make it look more soothing for all ages. I don`t know what the percentages are, but I do know that the majority of N64 games could be said to be a little cartoony, whilst more than the majority of PSone games could be said to be uncartoony.

None of that made much sense, but basically, its the difference between a few to add variety, and most which adds boredom.

Iam looking forward to the X-Box. I have it on pre-order and counting the days down(90 to go). X-Box will be good, there are at least 4 great games to own on launch day. Halo, Dead Or Alive 3, Oddworld and Project Gothem. Those are the ones I want. There are also other good games for sport fans and a few average games. X-Box has some very good games coming out soon e.g. Jet Set Radio Future.

The Hard Drive is used to cut down loading times and also can store all your music CDs in the form of MP3's which then can be used as IN game music instead of the games music. Add on's for games can be installed which will be available from the internet and magazines.

PS2 is still going to do very well even when the X-Box is out due to its price tag and its very large catalogue of AAA titles. More AAA titles are on the way so PS2 will still easily be able to hold its own against the X-Box.

You do know that Shrek is going to be released on PS2 as well, don't you?

But that's not all the cartoony games that the PS2 has, shall I list some more for you? Ok, here goes:

Jak & Daxter, Simpsons Road Rage, Rayman, Rayman M, Army Men (about 4 of them!!), Crash Bandicoot, Disney's Dinodaur, Donal duck - Quakc Attack, Fur Fighters, Klonoa 2, Kuri Kuri Mix, Lego Racers, shall I carry on?

The PS2 has kids games just as much as the other consoles, so stop speaking our of your butt, and go and do some research, before you make yourself look even more stupid.

Yeah i was watching thumb bandits the other day and i thought to myself about the quality of the DC graphcis, i mean there al supposed to be 128 Bit but the DC looks the worst out of the all - probably cos it was launched ages ago but i still think the PS2 looks the crispiest and when developers really put time and effort into it like they ahve dont with capcoms Devil May Cry then a game can be produced that really shows off the console and leaves the others standing, i mean except for halo how is the X-Box gonna launch to anyone over 12 with games like shrek on the launch list?? :)
