I am sure that the majority of the people reading the forums are aware that we have recently upgraded the web servers for security, performance and space reasons, but I just wanted to add a thread for any issues that need addressing from the server upgrade.

If you can post anything you want us to look at relating to issues from the server upgrades please post them here.

If you are having issues with receiving a 500 error when you try to visit a web site then please view this link here first where there is information on the most common issues.

The most common issue we experience with customers web sites since the server upgrades is that you receive a 500 error message. If you are experiencing this message, the first thing to do is check that the permissions on your htdocs folder have been set to 755.

To do this via Internet explorer (via your MyFreeola account) log into your MyFreeola account then select My Websites from the menu on the left hand side under Web Sites & hosting. Click on the Upload Files button on the right hand side and then select the Open your Website Folder button.

This should open a window containing two folders, right click on the htdocs folder and select properties.

This will open a window with a grid of 9 tick boxes. Make sure that the first row has all the tick boxes ticked and that the second and third row has only the read and execute boxes ticked.
