This won’t be so easy to solve though as dreams are tricky and can have you waking up while slapping yourself in the face. So here is the easy guide to seeing if you are dreaming of being in a video game or living in the real world. I will be conducting several tests to see if they work and also to entertain you guys.
Test 1 is simple, all you need to do is grab a yellow cape and tie it round your neck. Why is this? Well if Mario can fly with this in a video game then so can I. I make my way over to a cliff and look down. I kiss my cape and step over. RIIIPPP!
Okay then test 1 was inconclusive. As I dropped through the air a branch caught onto my cape and it shot straight off my back. I sustained major injuries to my groin and arm but am willing to try the next test.
Games like Tekken and Soul Calibur involve a lot of unbelieveable moves done by your regular person. So if I go up to a random guy and ask for a fight then I should stand a chance of winning right? If I can win then this is a dream, if not then oh fish sticks. I walk up to a huge well built man and tap him on the leg. “Dude what are you doing?” he asked. “I’m sorry, I just find you so attractive.” I stepped back and lifted up my fists expecting him to hit me. But instead he walked over to me and hugged me. “I find you attractive too,” He said passionately. I turn and run as fast as I can.
Test 3 and so far I haven’t found out if I am dreaming or not. This test involves me running from a ferrari as fast as I can. If I go to slow then will be hit and probably sent to the hospital again. Why am I doing this? Well, if this is a video game then I should be able to run at super speed like Sonic the hedgehog.
Looking behind I see the bright red car which I would soon be avoiding. I shout go and all hell breaks loose. I trip over a rock on the floor and turn round waiting for the car to come flying straight at me but instead it stays still. The car had broken down. Great ! I still don’t know if I’m awake or not.
Test 4 is the scariest of them all. I must take a vacuum cleaner and a flashlight and go into a building trying to suck up a ghost. I am doing this because Luigi can do this in Luigi’s Mansion. So if I can catch a Ghost with a vacuum cleaner then it is a dream. Taking my vacuum cleaner I try to search for a ghost. Now where would a ghost hide? I immediately make my way to the old folks home and start looking for signs of the dead. I find several old people but no ghost. That is until I notice a white thing floating behind a table. I approach with caution. All is silent. Suddenly I am grabbed round punched in the neck and thrown out. “Don’t let us catch you snooping our place again!” one old guy shouts out.
Well I can seriously say I am never going to find out if I’m dreaming of a video game or not. I then stare up and see Mario walking along kicking the floor. “Hey, Mario!” I call after him. Now how am supposed to know if I’m dreaming or not? Suddenly a floating banana… well… floats towards me. “Have you tried pinching yourself?” it moans. Looking at the banana I stand up and turn red in the face. I call for a taxi and Fox McCloud turns up in an Arwing. “Where to?” he asks. “Reality!” I reply.
