"Think of the mopy shoe-gazers I could upset with one swift rabbit-punch, go on...let me"
"What if you get arrested?"
"Then we make the papers and everyone wants to sign us. Plus, thousands of music fans will cheer"
"What if he kicks the crap out of you?"
"What? Look at him! If he does, I'll sue him and we'll still be well known. It's a win-win situation!"
But they refused.
I can't tell you the agony of sitting there, inches away from him thinking "jesus I really, really cannot stand your voice you annoying whiny girly-boy." but my boys not letting me do what was right.
I was disheartened but proud of my restraint.
And I really do loathe Starsailor, the world already has one Coldplay, and that's more than enough.
Gah.
The next time someone I detest sits next to me in a pub, I'm taking a walk on the wild side.
What would Keith Moon say?
What would Bonham say?
I am ashamed to be a maniac drummer tonight.
damn dirty Starsailor.
You should have gone with your instincts. The world does not need a whiner as pitiful as Mr.Starsailor. Admittedly it would have been painful in the short term as Starsailor's tracks would be played in memory of him, but only for all of 30 minutes. Then you would have liberated the world from a major threat to the sanity of millions.
Plus you could have pleadedinsanity if they prosecuted you. I suppose it's one of the perks of being a drummer, Keith Moon has paved the way for the untouchable drummer.
Played with a bunch of Liverpudlian scallys called "Pinhole" and the headline band were some stuck-up yuppy fools that stopped a soundcheck so the drummer could answer his mobile phone.
Amateurs.
Got there at 5pm for soundcheck, doors open at 7:30.
We were first on (labels insisted we open) and we blew that place apart, god help the other two bands following us.
Sorry, I know that sounds arrogant but it's not, it's the truth.
Had another celebrity guest there tonight. 1st we had Graham Coxon from Blur, a couple of Depeche Mode blokes turned up at our rehearsals and tonight?
That whiny voiced singer from Starsailor came.
Nice enough bloke, but christ I cannot stand his band.
My boys made me promise not to attack him.
Bah
He was within arms reach for over an hour in the pub with us, I could have so easily put him out of my misery but I had to play nice.
Gah
Anyhoo, top gig, we were great and now I'm at home.
With a looong evening ahead of me.
