Having breifly played the original Baldurs Gate on a friends PC, one of the great features was the ability to have a group of characters in your party, rather than just your original character. Does anyone know if this is also available in the PS 2 game?
But on the other hand with Dark Alliance, there's a very indepth item and weapon inventory, each class has its unique way of approaching enemies, and the way you develop that one character is different each time you play.
So the scope for diversity and tactics is still there in essence, add to that the fact that the game itself looks 'stunning', (always important during those endless hack and slash dungeon searches), and for me that clinched it.
Having said all that I still haven't played it as I'm waiting for it to drop through my letterbox, (I've streamed enough gameplay footage over the internet to know that this is a game for me), but as soon as it does I'll post a review once I've given it some serious game time.

Kinda, in single player mode you play as just the one character (choose from one of 3 classes) and in two player mode you go co-op with another player for the whole adventure. But no, you cannot have up to six different characters in your party. But hey, we're talking PS2 market here so they made it to appeal to the mainstream and not just beardy/statto adventurer types like me.
And guess what? IT'S OUT TODAY!!!! SR HAVE IT IN STOCK!!!!
