Just a title I picked out from the Mirror today.
Reports indicate that the United board have made emergency funds available for Fergie to buy a defender. Veron, was supposed to be Fergie's last signing for the club but the crisis has led to the board to change thier minds.
So anyway, whos he gonna get? Early reports say United made a £3M bid for Desailly. This has been denied by Desailly himself though today. Apparently Gallas has a £7M buy out clause in his contract...seen him play a few times, and he looks the business.
There there is Coloccini, the young argentine from AC milan. But it looks as though Alavas have the first option on him @£10M, and they are likely to sell him for a quick profit (sort of thing i do on champ mananager :D)

Apparently Van Nistelrooy said he asked Fergie if he could have the day off against West ham. How can ya blame him? I'd be knackered too if i had to play isolated upfront like he has done for so much of the season.

Problem: Too many people feeling there place is guaranteed in the team, and not removing their thumbs from their posteriors.
Solution: Put the kids in again. Give the John O'Shea's a chance. Can they mess it up more than the current lot? Probably not. Have they got something to prove? Certainly. Will they put in 100%? No. They will put in 150%. Which is about 100% more thanthe current lot.

The big names are not available at the moment. It would take a huge fee to sign someone like Cannavaro, Nesta or even Hoffland at the moment. I dont think any of them want to move until the end of the season anyway.
Would another Club in England even wanna sell Man Utd a player?! Why would anyone want to gift Man Utd a player that can sort out thier crisis. Everybody in the country is loving this! More than likely we will get somebody from abroad.

I still don't understand what happened with the Sol Campbell transfer saga??? 2 years ago, he was apparently 'in the bag' for United on a bosman last summer. But instead, he went to Arsenal, Spurs' biggest rivals???
Is he trying to prove his critics wrong, and show he can handle the pressure from fans?? So he can then be England captain?? HA-fat chance mate!! Beckham's doing the job.
Since we didn't get Sol, sold Stam and got Blanc instead, we should go for Cannavaro, Nesta or maybe Coloccinno. But it really has to be big!! A massive fee like Veron's should have been spent on a partner or Veron, and may have to be now!!

I like to Desailly link up with Blanc & Barthez, but isn't he injured at the moment? He was talking of retiring a few weeks because of his recurring injury.
