I'm renting a broadband modem off them at the mo and the service is, for want of a better word, moribund. They have so many issues to deal with. I find browsing slow and whenever I ring them I either wait half an hour in a queue before hanging up, or they try and blame me when I do get through to them. I'm not stupid, I know what I'm doing!!! It is all plugged in! I have installed xyz.exe!!! I've had to ring them about four or fives times since I've had the modem (three months) about various things and it's getting stupid. It's still slower than my old dial-up connection, but they don't seem to be bothered. I think I'll give them another go on Friday, get someone to test the line, there's something wrong somewhere and it's not me. Yeah, I don't recommend NTL, but they seem to be the only broadband supplier in the UK. I should have stuck with my dial-up and 56k, I had less problems with that one!

Strange.. I've had a remarkably good experience with NTL Cable since I got the modem a month or so ago.

I've had 100% connectivity -- literally, other than rebooting the firewall for kernel updates, and despite suffering the same http routing issue, it only seems to happen at around 2am, when sysadmins do tend to be randomly rebooting routers (ask lennert) and I should /really/ be asleep.

Yup, no ADSL in this area so I'm stuck with NTL too. They've had a router down somewhere for the last few days, randomly cutting access to some sites...notably google and SR, along with some other forums I visit and even NTL webspace. Dial-up service seems to be affected occasionally, but it's only in some areas of the south east as far as I can see from talking to other NThell users..

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
