From what I heard on the news, the Panasonic site burnt down with nearly everything inside rendered useless. Panasonic's insurance should cover nearly all the losses, but jobs will be lost.
But doesn't this all sound convienient to you?
The Welsh Development Agency was set up to try and get businesses to create jobs for the Welsh people. They did this by giving big businesses like Panasonic, Corus and Sony 'rent free' grants.
As you have probably already heard, Corus have made hundreds of people redundant, and so have Sony in Bridgend. This is because the grants have come to the end of their 'rent free' conditions, and now the companies have to cut costs to pay the rent.
I'm not saying this next part has actually happened, but it's a possibility. Panasonic convieniently have a fire which causes them a lot of damage and allows them to claim their insurance (Oh no! Lost their 'no claims' bonus!) Because they now have to pay rent on the land they use, they needed to cut costs. However, they know that making loads of people redundant will make news headlines and give them unwanted publicity, they stage an accident. They get sympathy from the public and nobody, except a few suspicious minds like mine, think the worst. Remember, this may not be the case, just a thought.
So what really happened? Was it just an accident? I wonder if the Panasonic plant will be re-opened? And will everyone get their jobs back?
are you trying to tell
> us something?

Maybe you should ask Edgy that question....?
> It was a storage depot and not a plant, if that makes any difference.

Just up the road from me too...
Excellent
Expect Wookie to argue and shout about "Our Boys" and eventually Loki will tell you to shut up and menace your pets.
Nice post.
