Why is it so cold at night?
Because the earth has rotated to the point where the sun can no longer reach your area, hence it is called night.
At this time of year (Winter), the hours of sun is diminished and it gets much colder during the day and night. If there are no clouds, the heat escapes and it gets very cold.
I hope this helps. :D
