I so need this game.
i managed a measly 11 seconds, but i redeam myself by the fact that i did it without the aid of any ramps/bridges/slope/casums of water, to aid my flight, i just went along the runway went up and came down. :0(

I rock - I've actually bombed it up the runway, taken off and got to the second island by flying it over the water. The trick is to push the nose forward before you pull it back, then it goes really high into the air. I rock.
