The Controllers.
PLAYSTATION 2
I think most of us know what this is like by now, very, very similar to the dual shock pad for the PS1.
Very comfortable and fits in your hand snuggly.Doesn`t make your hand cramp up after excessive play.
Has a built in rumble pack.Very impressive overall.
XBOX
I haven`t personally held this so i will go by magazine reports.Very big, black and ugly, much like the console.
Despite it`s looks it is very comfortable with all the buttons in easy to reach areas.Ideal for any size hands.
Quite heavy,as expected but a nice little (big)controller here.
GAMECUBE
Looks pretty nifty and works like a dream.Very painful for people with very big hands, but all the buttons are
easily accessible and the button layout is amazing. The c-stick and the analogue stick are made out of a weird
type of rubber,giving them a lovely feel.Available as a wireless controller(requiring batteries)also.
All in all the Gamecube controller is about the same quality as the playstation2 controller, with the Xbox`s
slightly lacking the flair and comfortability.
Release Dates and Prices!!
PLAYSTATION 2
This console is already out and would set you back around £199 for the basic`s,and about £89 for an extra
controller,a game and a memory card on top.
XBOX
The Xbox will probably be out in march and will retail for about a whopping £299 for the basic`s!!!
Plus an extra £100 for a game, memory card and controller!!!Easily the most expensive console on the
market.
GAMECUBE
There has not been a confirmed release date for this yet,but it will probably arrive here in march, the same as
the Xbox. This is the cheapest of the lot and will be available for in-between £150 and £200.It will cost an
extra £85 for a controller, game and memory card.
The Gamecube is the overall cheapest, but Playstation2 will be the cheapest in the long run, with games being
reasonably cheap these days......
Well there you have it,every thing you need to know to be able to choose your console.
Please post your comments and improvements, and i hope it helps you choose your dream machine.
SCAMPS (With honours,sir)
I'd say X-Box comes last, just because everyone hates Microsoft.
Then PS2 and GC are a bit difficult to judje as there are a lot of Ninty's waiting for it, but PS2 has a lot of followers and good games comning up.
It's a tough call.
Oh, and no-one really read the last one as it turned into a house of chattering and slightly amusing comments.

IGN, Gamespot etc said the GC controller was awkward to use because it's not designed for anything besides slow paced games, The Z button is apparantly a pain to press in precious moments and because it has only a select few buttons games like SSX which use nearly all of the PS pad had to "toned down" to use it, for instance pressing both shoulder buttons is the same as the L2 button.
I've yet to try the gamecube controller and i hope it's nice for all the resi game (yippee) but i doubt it's a dual shock beater.
