Obviously the main problem of the N64 which restricted the developement of games was the fact that it used cartriges instead of disks. This mean that it couldn't use any of the impressive video or sound samples which made the playstation so great. However at last Nintendo have decided to finally use disks which combined with the brilliant game ideas from Rare and Nintendo will make it the best console yet. I mean lets face it, games like Perfect Dark and Zelda were better than anything the other consoles had to offer and that was without the use of CDs.
The one slightly worrying thing about the Gamecube situation was the lack of proposed titles on display at Spaceworld however I'm sure i will improve nearer the time.
However despite all the critisism Nintendo gets I believe that with the arrival of the Gamecube they will finally show who the best developer is, and will the prospect of DVD and Internet there will be no stopping Nintendo.
Nintendo's always been the innovative force in the games industry, who else can claim that they themselves made more gamers devote more and more of their spare time to one of their games other than Nintendo?
Alright, the N64 wasn't the biggest hit Nintendo ever had (remember Virtual Boy anyone? That was FAR worse!) but that was only due to the fact that developers wouldn't fully commit themselves to cartridges; and this caused droughts of games, late releases and generally headaches for the N64 community.
But if Nintendo fix the problems that bogged down the N64's success, then I cant see why the Game Cube cant succeed as one of the better consoles out there. They certainly have the immagination for it, as proved by their superior games.

Har har har...
Only joking... Anyway the only thing I am worried with the Cube is the loading times. Does anyone know what the loading times for DVDs are like?
