Andrew House, the president of SCEE, announced the details of the new PSP, codenamed NGP (Next Generation Portable).
Unlike the 3DS Launch, this was a closed Press-only event to announce the first details rather than the full specs (or even the name) of the machine at this point.

They have said they will make a loss on it with the price point and that it will be affordable. I doubt they will make the same mistake as they did wit the PSP Go but Sony's idea of affordable and mine are likely to be very different.
No doubt they will be keeping a close eye on how the 3DS sells.

I'd be surprised if it's that much more than the price of the 3DS. £250 maybe? £300 tops, though at that price they'd be turning a lot of people away.
Very interested in this but no doubt, when announced, the price tag will give me a taste of reality.
