Well hi there everybody, I’m very bored and quite depressed so I have decided to follow the tradition of the good old natter and moaning, so here I go……

I am aged 13, 14 in January 6th, my parents are getting divorced so I’m really depressed and its quite stressful. School is also a pain up the a**e, so many boring lessons and so many detentions for no apparent reason, for instance today I was given a lunchtime (was an after school, but I managed to change it) for wait for it, sharpening my pencil and so she says, getting the bits of pencil stuff on the floor when I quite clearly got them in the bin. It really makes me think that teachers hate me. So at the moment the only thing I have going for me is my mates (Grandprix, Ice Blaster and Starlight) and of course the ever so loveable Christmas. So this now brings me onto to want I want for Christmas, well the main things are either Osiris D3-01 skate shoes or a Game boy Advance, also some little things like Championship Manager 2001-2002, Excitebike 64, Westwood 2 CD and Mario Kart super circuit for the GBA. Another problem I’m finding is that I’m ill, I have missed a few days off school due to this (no I wasn’t faking, as much as I hate school) I find that I lose my voice and my throat causes great pain. I’m going to the doctors tomorrow hopefully it won’t be bad. Another thing I’m looking forward to is my birthday which as I said before is January 6th (feel free to send me a e-card, my email is [email protected]) usually I get money and then I save it for the summer until there’s something I really want seeing as though its so soon after Christmas. Also I have nearly forgot to mention is that I’m looking forward to April or there about as I have pre ordered my Gamecube as a late birthday present so I’m looking forward to that. I don’t know whether he would want me to say this but ill take a chance, one of my best friends on these forums M*** (I wont say his SR or normal name just in case) is down in the dumps as well and he was the kind of friend who gave me great advice and help and I always talked to him on MSN and seeing as though he hasn’t been on recently I have been missing his wisdom. Please come back soon! So I think my ramble is over, I have got a lot off my chest, I hope this has not been to boring to read (if you did read it). I would also like to say thanks to SR for giving me the opportunity to write this. All I can add is roll on next year!

So, ops im supposed to make it look promising for you jet!! Well make the most of your 13 year old life, you can enjoy it- go out with your mates and use free time wisely, you will loose it(among with other things as you grow up)!

Trust me, there are teachers who want to teach in a good way and students that want to learn, but along the way you're going to find problem people on either side of the fence, it's life. The government make all the rules and teachers and students have to face the consequences of those rules, often to their detriment, it makes me mad.

Teachers I know do a wonderful job (although I'm talking here mostly about primary school teachers) and it's hard work for them too, do you know how many teachers suffer nervous breakdowns these days?

Some kids get in the way too, I know. They really make me angry, disrupting the rest of the class, but often there are reasons why they need the attention and it may be that they are having problems at home too, it could be a cry for help.

While training to be a teacher myself, I've taught classes where pupils have come from different backgrounds and the other children (and some teachers) just didn't understand, this resorted to them being called names because the popular conception of their background is based on myth and fairy tales, but it screws these kids up and there is little the teachers can do to help because they are bound by government regulations.

I didn't go in to teaching in the end, it was making me angry just to see how screwed up the government were making it for teachers and pupils. That doesn't mean that they you can't get anything out of the experience, just remember that what you learn could be useful in later life, and don't base it all on test scores.

I know exactly what you mean. The majority of students don't want to learn anything. I wanted to learn but the trouble makers get all the attention.

My parent are split up. I kept a lot of feelings inside.

Anyway.

Well, when you are having a bad day, everything goes wrong don't it? I mean. How stupid is having a detetion for putting sharpenings IN THE BIN but being accused of putting them on the floor?!
I know my school would of given them the polite V-Sign or at worse told them the F Off throw a few things around the class and then just walk out.

But thats my school.

I wouldn't of gone to that detention but thats me. Not you.

I used to really hate school but when you get to choose you options then it gets pretty class actually. You get to choose ICT (Yay!) PE (Yay!) Etc etc.

Teachers you hate. Well. Just hate them and hope its not a subject that you like. I used to hate English because the teacher was a right old .. .but now we have a really sound teacher and I love it. Funny init.

Keep your chin up mate, and look forward to the better things in life. Like being able to drive a car, or ride a motorbike (At 16) or scooter. I just take school as a joke now. I am always laughing. And messing around. But not to much so it gets me in trouble (Well, like 1/10 of the time)

Chin up. Keep it up. DAMN YOU KEEP IT UP.

Thats not what they think...

Why the hell are we forced to listen to them and treat them like thier Gods when they usually arn't much better than we are?

Stick me in a room with a revision book and a pen...I'd learn thrice as much.

Anyway.

Sorry to hear that, Jet. There really is nothing i can say other than what's been said on ehre already.

Keep your head up, everything will sort itself out in the end. Look at me for chrissakes, I have arthritis, I'm ketonic and I'm generally weird (Doesn't take a genious to work that out though :-D) But I've learned to cope. You will too and you will start to enjoy your life again. Trust me (or don't :-D).

Rock on, Jet

Personally I blame the education system, lousy tests and such. It's ridiculous because it doesn't test everyone's ability in the same way. As we all know, everyone is different and react differently to different things (hmm, maybe I should get my thesaurus but it bit me) but the system only caters to people who test well. You may well have all the knowledge but in the exam you get too nervous and forget it all or perhaps you just can't concentrate under exam conditions. The most annoying thing is that it's very rare that you will be in a situation where you are placed in a room and must silently complete some work on a topic within a limited time without any reference material and yet that's exactly the situation they use to test your ability. There's surely a better way, perhaps the old pass/fail trick with your teachers judging it but then of course there's the possibility of a bias teacher who dislikes you for some reason or even lets you pass despite you having no idea what you are doing. Of course they should maybe pick their educators better, often you get a teacher who discriminates against certain people because they suspect them to be a trouble maker and wont hear otherwise or perhaps they are jealous of how easy you may find some of the work when they had a hard time at school. Anyway I've got a lot against education but until I create a united communist state (well, maybe) under my watchful eye there's not a lot I can do. Well actually, this being a democracy I could always write to my representatives or even become one.

Oh that doesn't cover the point, yes well we're all Human and so we've got all these blasted feelings over which we have no control. The only thing you can do is try to tackle them or ignore them. In the end both bad things and good things will happen and then you die, just try to enjoy yourself on the way and help others do the same and then you can look back over a long life and say that overall it wasn't too bad. If we all did this then maybe we could be proud to be members of the Human race, as it is just be proud in yourself. Unless you're an evil criminal, in which case feel shame and change your wicked ways then feel proud that you did.
